Arizona Reunion

I didn't take a lot of pictures but a big hit at the reunion this year was playing badmitton with a net. Here's Sherri Glenn, Kristen Taylor (Brian's wife), and Camille Skinner (Amy's daughter).

I had a great time playing badmitton on the guys' team, except Brennan should have been there helping me. (Maybe next year) From left to right, Eli (Daryl's oldest), Zachery (Sherri's oldest), Brian (Sharla's son), and Sean (Donna's youngest son who is back from a mission and attending BYU). The 2 young boys were highly competitive but did a great job learning to play as a team.
Of course, we always try to have some relay races for the children.

And you get to ride on the Hathcock golf cart if you're lucky. Left to right are Zachery, Eli, Seth (I think), Addie (Sherri's oldest), Courtney (Leslie's youngest), and Camille.
This is Leslie, a new grandma even though she looks way too young, with her first granddaughter, Olivia Beth, (Kristin's daughter, and Kristin loves being a Mom). She is such a cutie.
Granddad Rogers still loves the babies!!

This is the wiggly picture. The baby boy is Shauna and Daryl's youngest. They have 4 boys just like James and Lia.
This is the less wiggly picture.
There were less people at the reunion than ever before. It seemed lonely, especially after we had everyone there last year in Utah. But it was perfect weather, slightly cool with sun breaks, and those who were there had a great time. We made some very important decisions.
1. The Arizona Reunion will always be on the 3rd weekend of July. This allows everyone to plan ahead.
2. We will have a Super Reunion (last year in Utah was a Super Reunion) every 3 years, still on the 3rd weekend of July. We would like EVERYONE, NO EXCEPTIONS, to plan ahead to come!! (And also plan to save a bit of money for it. Dad treated us by paying for the Utah Reunion, but we can't allow him to keep doing that. We all need to chip in.) Some of the current ideas for the next Super Reunion are maybe doing something in the St. George area where Dad lives now, or in the Mesa Valley (at relatives homes), at Grandpa's cabin, or Salt Lake area. The Mesa Valley would be the cheapest one since some people would have to stay at the motel by Dad's cabin (but people can tent it on Dad's or Bob & Leslie's land. Anyway we are welcoming all input for the next Super Reunion which will be in 2010 (PLAN FOR IT). Give your input to Granddad or one of the 5 sisters.

Dad's House

(Yes, now I'm writing below the picture instead of above - just keeping you on your toes.) I had the opportunity to drive home from the cabin with my Dad (Nancy was not there because of having to stay home to water the garden) and then catch a flight home from Las Vegas. I was happy to get a chance to visit with Dad more and get to see where he now lives in St. George. Here he is, standing in front of his St. George home. (He and Nancy also own a rental home which I didn't get a picture of.)
Their home is lovely but not as spacious as the Dolphin Cr. home in Mesa. They had been renting this home and now will live here a few years. They have a lovely guest room which I enjoyed. We had a great fish dinner and played games later.

Here's Nancy with her fancy organ. It plays jazzy beats and has lots of settings like a keyboard.
As long as Dad has land for a garden, he's happy. Here are tomato and squash plants in his back yard. We got to do a little weed-pulling together. Then sit on the back patio as the evening cooled down.
Squash vines - close up.
Dad and the baby trees in the back of his yard.

Dad's Land

This is Dad's land in Tokerville, outside of St. George. It is on a cultesac, of course. The first picture is the view from the street. It has grape vines toward the back, and a storage building and more land behind the vines. The second picture is Nancy and Dad by the grape vines, looking toward the north side of the property and nice neighbor who sold the property to them.
This is the view looking from the grape vines toward the front of the property and the street. You can see the home that is next to his property on the cultesac.
This is his gorgeous view looking south. He plans to have a home built here using the same plan as his home in Mesa. To me, this felt like a perfect place for my Dad. I hope they get it built soon.

Action shot of watering vines. (Again looking south)

Bunnies

I am back home again. These are our 3 bunnies. We bought them just because they are cute, but mostly because I wanted them for my grandchildren. I just wish more of my grandchildren lived close and could enjoy them. As it is, they have become very good friends with Eleanor. I really think they like her more than me. She has learned to approach them very slowly and pet them calmly, and they allow her to do that. This isn't a great picture, but Snow is on the left (she won't let anyone pet her), then Honey in the middle and Cindy on the right. In the background is Katy our dog on the outside of the pen. She is obsessed with them and watches them all the time.
This is Cindy, nick name for Cinderella (mascara around her eyes), who is friendly most of the time.
This is Honey. You see the little brown spot on her back. Down the center of her back is a brown/gold line that looks like someone dripped honey on her. She is very friendly.

Love to all my family!!!
